Our Story
Rudimental Labs was founded to fill a gap in Australia's innovation landscape.
While most engineering firms are built for repetition, few are equipped to tackle the uncertainty and complexity of first-of-a-kind product development. This creates costly delays for startups and slows progress in sectors like CleanTech — where speed, creativity, and cost-effectiveness matter most.
We launched Rudimental Labs to change that: our team is purpose-built for early-stage engineering, combining first-principles problem solving with hands-on prototyping.
Our Directors have come from clean-tech, university commercialisation and early-stage project development backgrounds. We've been where many of our clients are and we understand the specific nuances to early-stage work. We've created Rudimental Labs to specifically serve these early-stage products, projects and organisations.

Second, we run lean. We know that venture funding is hard to come by, so we've set up to be financially successful whilst keeping our overheads low, meaning better value for our clients. This let's us serve everyone with a new idea, not just larger corporations.
Third, we're a client too. We continuously invent and commercialise our own products. We understand your needs, as we're living it too. It also means there's little non-billable time in our business; often the biggest cost overhead in consulting, as we're either working for you or for ourselves.
These differences are intentional. They allow us to offer high-value, affordable engineering and advisory services specifically tailored to Australia's early-stage innovators, start-ups and entrepreneurs.
