Hardware Engineering Team Lead
Ryan is a highly skilled mechanical engineer and the lead of Rudimental Labs’ hardware engineering team, where he manages the design and build of novel machines and prototypes. With experience across the automotive, mining, and medical industries, he brings deep expertise in applying advanced numerical methods to solve complex engineering challenges.
Ryan’s technical strengths include mechanical design, multi-objective optimisation, and advanced computational engineering. He is adept in low-volume and prototype manufacturing, as well as the design and operation of experimental hardware. His multidisciplinary capabilities also extend to PCB design and embedded software development, giving him a uniquely broad toolkit for tackling engineering problems.
Balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution, Ryan is equally at home in the workshop and at the design desk. His experience with automated CAD and FEA tools enables him to streamline development, ensuring precision, efficiency, and reliability at every stage.
Since joining Rudimental Labs in early 2024, Ryan has driven the development of cutting-edge hardware solutions, leading a team that bridges the gap between advanced engineering concepts and real-world applications. He is completing a PhD at RMIT University, further strengthening his expertise in engineering innovation.
